Thrillers, Mystery & Suspense
I’m most drawn to psychological thrillers/mysteries with propulsive plots and a strong atmosphere.
Some favorites: Alex Michaelides, Stuart Turton.
Horror
I love feminist gothic horror. I gravitate towards intelligent, unsettling, psychologically or culturally rich narratives that don’t shy away from social commentary.
Some favorites: Mariana Enriquez, Agustina Bazterrica, Marina Yuszczuk, Monstrilio, The Witching Hour.
Fantasy
In all its forms: cozy, dark, romantic or non-romantic. However, I lean towards grounded stories. High-fantasy is a bit harder for me to get into, but not an immediate no. (If in doubt, send it over!)
Some favorites: Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries, This Princess Kills Monsters, The Atlas Six, The Familiar.
Speculative Fiction
Magical realism is my all-time favorite genre, and the reason I got into publishing. Beyond that, I’m also drawn to alternate history and time-travel.
Some favorites: The Ministry of Time, Pete Hamill’s Forever, The House of the Spirits, The Immortalists.
